Broadcast every week Sunday morning at 6am Saturday at 6:05am on Hokkaido Television Broadcasting (hereafter HTB), and in Shanghai, Taiwan, Vietnam, Hawaii, Los Angeles, and more… MCs Li Qiang (Shanghai) and Isis (Toronto, Canada) Alena (Sakhalin, Russia) explore the northernmost island of Japan, Hokkaido, which is also known as one of Asia’s most popular vacation locations. HTB announcer Megumi Ono has a corner to “zoom in” on a specific topic or item that is popular now in Hokkaido. With four seasons to color the land with different colors, and surrounded by three oceans to bless the waters with an abundance of seafood, you are sure to find something you love to see, love to eat, and love to experience. The people are incredibly kind, it’s as if they invite you into their family and treat you as the highest guest of honor, explaining as much as they can about how much they love their land and their life. The more you travel, meet people, eat the local foods and learn of the local activities, the more you feel like you could come back again and again and again, until finally you decide to live here. 🙂
As *former (as of 3.2016)* MC of the show, it is my job to visit different towns of the island, meet the people in each location, learn of how and why they love Hokkaido, and explain how amazing that love is to all the viewers watching. I often like to say it is my job to help the Hokkaido people shine, so that they can be recognized for all of their hard work, and that their love-driven lives can be appreciated by others. Time and time again I am impressed and moved by just how much the people of Hokkaido are completely in love with the land, and that naturally comes out in their job and the products they make. It is often said love is the secret ingredient to many good foods, I am confident when I say, that is why Hokkaido food is just so good! My goal is to keep supporting and sharing how wonderful these people are, and because of these loving people, how wonderful Hokkaido is. Even God blesses the land with beautiful seasons and landscapes! You are sure to be healed in many ways if you visit this beautiful land, majestic Hokkaido. HTB, the company I work for that makes this TV show “Love Hokkaido”, hopes to let the beauty of Hokkaido “snow over Asia”.
